Announcing:
The WIDB Music Archive Project
It started out as a gift idea…

John Spotts liked to surprise his old WIDB pals at the reunion with a special gift. At the 30th, his gift was the culmination of at least a year of work scouring record stores and the internet; obtaining, encoding and dubbing for limited distribution 2 CDs worth of almost-forgotten-about musical gems from WIDB’s playlists of 1980-82. Songs that got a lot of attention at the station, but faded into obscurity over the decades virtually everywhere else. Songs that would jump-start memories recalling the personality of WIDB during the early eighties.

Inspired, Randy Lynch has decided to helm a similar project, but on a much larger, grander scale:

To assemble 30+ years worth of WIDB-defining tracks on a multi-volume set. For posterity, for entertainment, for anything and everything.
Because we can.

It’s a daunting task, which is corny-sounding; cliché, even. But

WE NEED YOUR HELP.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT.

30 freaking years of WIDB music. Signature tunes that we loved during our stays but lost track of thru time. Songs that didn’t necessarily get the exposure they deserved outside our little world in C’dale.

WE NEED YOUR HELP.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT.

If you DJed at the station or even if you didn’t, we need to know your thoughts and ideas and SONGS!
